During core, while frantically finishing up DMD, Finance, Accounting AND Economics at 2AM on one fateful Sunday evening, I distinctly remember saying:

“I can’t wait for Spring term to start.”

(Arguably, it’s not Sunday evening at 2 in the mornin’.)  Yet, no matter how hard I wished, the light at the end of the tunnel kept getting further away.  More and more OP meetings were scheduled at longer and longer durations.  I started to forget what BHP stood for.  And, I began to miss the feeling of having my sneakers fermented to the sticky floors.

Fortunately, the end of term came.  We all took off on our respective vacations to escape the Boston winter.  All of us (ok, maybe just me) expecting that the next 18 months were going to be the best resume-explainable hiatus, EVER. I had grand visions of never missing a BHP Wednesday or C-Function Thursday, again.  And, taking random tours around the world, filling up my passport with immigration stamps.

Don’t get me wrong, I still intend to do all this.  But, damn… reading 2 cases a night and building as many Excel models wasn’t part of the master plan.  And, as if things weren’t already misleading, the free coffees are all but gone (around 2 days a week instead of 5) and I’m starting to miss Bertucci’s.  Shocking.  I know.

Though it’s not 2am, yet…

“I can’t wait for 2nd year to start.”

One Response to “wait a second… where’s that easy spring term?”

Peggah claims “2nd semester is easy” is a conspiracy to keep 1st years going during core. It’s so wrong!!!!!!!! (I am going to continue it for the revenge/hazing factor. What’s the OP word for it?)
