Last month, after months of preparation, a handful of us organized the first ever video game conference at MIT called the MIT Sloan Business in Gaming Conference (http://www.mitbig.com/). In every aspect, it was a huge success.
We surpassed our attendance targets with around 200 professionals, students and faculty in attendance. We had four entertaining and educational panels. We networked; they networked. Our twitter hashtag was busy. We got tonnes of press ranging from Business Week, Newsweek, Boston Globe, PBS to Gamasutra, Joystiq and Game Daily. Our keynotes from Ken Levine (Co-founder, 2K Boston) and Susan Bonds (CEO, 42 Entertainment) were phenomenal. And we had all-star panelists representing start-ups, large caps, services and more including Curt Schilling and the new digital distribution console, Zeebo’s CEO, John Rizzo.
Best of all… we didn’t lose money.
Next year’s going to be bigger and better with a phenomenal class of 2010 leadership team. Good luck guys! Make us proud…
